Lloyd LaVerne Keslar

A Life Remembered

February 12, 1928 to March 27, 2006

Lloyd was born to Violet and Harry Keslar of Huntley, Nebraska. He graduated from Edison High School in Edison, Nebraska in 1946. He served in the Army of the United States from September 4, 1946 to February 14, 1948. Lloyd married Delores Mae McCray on May 5, 1951. He was the father of four children.

Lloyd's employment history: signal maintainer for Burlington Railroad in Hyannis, Nebraska, draftsman for Burlington Railroad in Chicago, IL, mechanic of heavy equipment for Fahres in North Platte, Nebraska, worked for Southwest Lumber Industry in Flagstaff, Arizona., had a milk route, worked in the motor pools for the University of Northern Arizona and the University of Nebraska, and finished his career as an Automotive Instructor at Southeast Community College.

Lloyd received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education, from the University of Nebraska Lincoln on May 12th, 1979.

Lloyd's primary interest was working for the Lord. He was baptized in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1958. He served as Priest, an Elder, and most recently as an Apostle in the Church of Christ Restored.

Visitation: Cremation. No visitation.

Service: Friday, March 31, 2006 at 1:00 p.m.
Location:Community of Christ Church; 44th and South Streets.

Family Information:

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 54 years – Delores; daughters and sons-in-law – LeIla White, LaVerna and Jim Bakk, LaVonne and Jim Ruley; and son and daughter-in-law Paul and Deb Keslar, all of Lincoln; seven grandchildren – Gabriel Jones, Davida Kucera, Alisha Thompson, Tyler Bakk, Jessica and Matt Keslar, Jimmy Ruley; 9 great-grandchildren – Nathaniel, Kaylena, Bree, Noah, Eric, Echo, Dominic, Joshua and Jesse; sisters – Norma Mayo of Holdrege, Nebraska, and Donna Hendrick of Springfield, Virginia.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Don.
